Hello and thank you for taking an interest in the Hilltop Hikers! 2024 marks our 31st year as a club! Try 3 hikes as our guest before you join to be sure we are a good fit for you. We are a friendly group. You will need to list the 3 hikes on your membership application.
Click on the link below for our latest schedule. Here is a detailed explanation of what the level numbers mean assigned to our hikes. For each level, it first rates the trail and after the slash it rates the hiker. This knowledge is good to have prior to attempting a hike. Trail Ratings/Suggested Hiker Ratings

The schedules below tell you the name of the hike, the time and the meeting location. Then it tells you the level of hiking and how many miles it is. A 5 mile hike is generally 2 hours or less depending on the difficulty. Please leave enough time. Arrive 20 minutes early to sign in and use the facilities. Then it tells you if there are "restroom facilities" (RR).
When you arrive, you will be greeted by the hike leader. They will have you sign our hiking sheet under "guest". You will be asked for your phone number as well as an emergency contact phone number. If you decide to join, you will get credit for your miles hiked (30 days retroactive).

4/18/24 The Wilderness Center hike originally scheduled for Saturday, April 20th at 10:00AM is changed to a start time of 2:00PM because of a park “Run Wild” Event.

4/5/24 The Canal Lands hike for 4/6/24 is changing locations due to flooding. We are changing the location to Petros Park, making it 5 miles and NOT A LAP HIKE. We will be doing all of the trails, so expect to hike in wet grass. 4/6/24PETROS PARK 10:00AM Dog hike. Level 2, 5 miles, RR. The hike will explore some of the nature trails at the park in addition to the trail around the lake. Address: 3519 Perry Dr. SW, Canton. Meet at the lower Parking Lot on Perry Road. Directions: Take Rte. 77 to Faircrest Exit south of Canton. Turn west, go to Perry Road, turn north to the first parking lot on the left.

5/16/2021 Because of a major sewer pipe break at the Massillon Reservoir Walking Track, it will be closed until those repairs can be made. Here are the correct directions for Mill Stream Run hike on July 9th. I-77 north to Rte. 18 west to I-71 north to exit 231 (82 east). We will be doing 5.5 miles on the red trail first. Then you can choose to go on to complete the full 10 miles. This hike is still a level 3-4 because of steep slopes and ravines.
